6th Grade Cyberbullying Lesson

The 6th grade students are learned about cyber bullying last week. Here is what a few students had to say about the video they watched and cyber bullying.

Today I watched a movie called Adina’s Deck. It was all about cyber bullying. It really opened my eyes, to see that it actually happens in our own school. In the movie, a girl named Skye  was being cyber bullying and the cyberbully was saying really mean things. A girl named Adina, was very good at computers. She helped Skye find her cyber bully and it turns out it was her friend that made the website.
The moral to this story is that cyber bullying is really rude and you can get in really big trouble. By the way, cyber bullying is the use of electronic communication to bully a person, typically by sending messages of an intimidating or threatening nature. Cyber bullying always makes an impact on the person getting hurt. You should learn from this video that cyber bullying can happen to anyone and can be one of your friends.
~Kami Pearson

Cyber bullying is when you bully someone over the  internet. Cyber bullying can be very dangerous.  It can led to very dangerous things.  People can get very hurt and have to start taking medication to help with depression. In the movie ‘’Adina’s Deck,’’  Clara, Adina and Sky met at Clara’s house to try to find out who was cyber bullying Sky. Adina and Clara did a lot of things to find out who was bullying Sky. Clara tracked the IP address and it turns out it was Sky’s ex boyfriend.  That shows you that anyone can cyberbully you, even your best friend can bully you. So be careful who you share your information with and on social media, keep your information private
The number one thing I learned from watching Adina’s Deck is that cyber bullying can be  dangerous and the bully can have very serious consequences. Sky was very lucky Adina and Clara helped her before the cyberbullying got really bad. Now I know to be careful who I say my information with and to keep all my social media private and only let my friends see.
